1. What are the value proposition and business model (Merchant model, Advertising model, etc.) for this sites?
The Value Proposition for this site is the ability to sign up/register for courses, private lessons, group music classes, free classes, the ability to view schedules and calendars of events (i.e. recitals, concerts, etc.), and the ability to make payments for services offered online.
The Business Model is a B2C - business to consumer model of which these services are primarily offered and available for all consumers through the use of the merchant model in a brick and click storefront, you can select what services you want online, but for the most part you have to go to the school to get the service.
2.How does the website integrate to other channels for this company? ( NOTE: A channel can be a retail store, a catalog, direct mailing campaign, etc. )
This website is a channel for the School, it provides course catalogs/offerings online to get your business. Then it provides those services at a particular location. It also provides for you to request information via direct mailing.
3.How do they cater different types of Consumers (Impulsive, Patient, Analytical) and shopping experiences (Utilitarian and Hedonic)? (Attract)
They cater to Impulsive consumers with the bright colors of the website and the free lesson offerings, they cater to the patient consumers by listing out the events and courses that you can take or go to, they cater to the analytical consumers by providing a ton of information about history, mission, and everything else on the website.
They are mainly catering to a Utilitarian shopping experience by providing consistent and informative data over and over again throughout the website.
4. How does this site interact with the customer? What type of tools do they use to improve the customer's shopping experience? (Interact)
There is an online registration form, you can make payments online via google checkout, they have broken up all the data into separate sections, so you only have to view what you are looking for, they provide a resources section. They also provide a mailing list feature.
5. How does the site process order placement and payment? (Act)
You can use a Registration Form and make a payment online via google checkout.
6. How does the site handle delivery, shipping and return? (Act)
The services are delivered at the location.
7. How does the site handle Customer Service and technical support? (React)
There is a contact us page available for direct contact to someone on the phone and/or through e-mail or direct mail.
8. How useful is site's navigation design? (Usability)
The sites navigation design is very friendly it is on the left side the whole time, so it is easily memorized.
9. Is the content well-organized, easy to navigate, visually appealing? (Usability)
The content is broken up into smaller easier to process sections, and the navigation bar is always on the left, therefore yes the content is well-organized and the site is easily navigated, however the colors are not that pleasant and the wording is that easy to read, so not that visually appealing.
10. What are some possible improvements or enhancements you would recommend for the site?
My main recommendation is to change the color scheme, create a better menu/navigation system, and to attract a more hedonic shopping experience add some flash content/music.
