US01 - Low or medium fidelity sketches of web site

Description:

As a designer, I want to create low or medium fidelity sketches of Java Stop's website that will provide a visual illustration for the Java Stop website. The illustrations will form the foundation for the development of the website upon the client's approval. The sketches will provide the client can understand the framework of the site before color and graphics have been added.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review and acceptance of one of the proposed layouts. Developer review of sketches to determine feasibility of implementation.

Tasks:

  • Create wireframe sketch of the Java Stop home page and Shop Page.

One low or medium fidelity wireframe of Java Stop's home page.

US02 - Wireframes for default template or sections of website

Description:

As a designer, I want to create wireframes of the home page, blog, and item catalog to provide the proposed layout of the more detailed sections of Java Stop's website that will allow the client to have a better understanding of what the final layout of the pages will look like.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review and acceptance of page layouts. Developer review of layouts to determine feasibility of implementation.

Tasks:

  • Create a Java Stop Blog Wireframe using Axure
  • Create a Java Stop Shop Product Page Wireframe using Axure
  • Create a Java Stop Home Page Wireframe using Axure
  • Create a Java Stop Shopping Cart Wireframe using Axure

US03 - Information Architecture of overall site

Description:

As a designer, I want to create an information architecture that will allow the users to easily find content and products on Java Stop's website.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review and acceptance that the information architecture makes sense and that all items have been included in the navigation.

Tasks:

  • Form a team consensus on content and functionality requirements for the website.
  • Create Information Architecture diagram using Visio
  • Review Information Architecture Diagram with team
  • Make necessary changes to IA diagram and submit to team for final approval
  • Present final diagram to client and review for final sign-off

US04 - Perform CLOSED card sorting to determine navigation and content groupings

Description:

As a designer, I want to perform a closed card sort activity to validate the major information architecture categories and understand what items users expect to find within those major categories when navigating Java Stop's website.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review of card sort findings to ensure they align with expectations.

Tasks:

  • Identify list of items and categories and send to team to validate
  • Modify list of items and categories based on team feedback
  • Organized closed card sort on websort.net
  • Send unique websort.net link to 10 participants
  • Review results from card sort
  • Make any necessary changes to IA diagram and wireframes

US05 - Provide web style guide for site

Description:

As a designer, I want to create a web style guide for the Java Stop website that will include fonts, page layouts, spacing, colors, and graphics to be used by all designers and developers to maintain a consistent look and feel across the entire site.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client and project team review and approval of style guide.

Tasks:

  • Create web style guide document with fonts, page layouts, spacing, colors, and graphics.

US06 - Create UML Activity, Sequence, and Use Case diagram

Description:

As a developer, I want to create a UML Activity diagram to show the major use cases of the Favorites functionality on Java Stop’s website.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client and project team review of process to determine that it meets the needs of the users. Developers to review the diagrams to determine feasibility of implementation.

Tasks:

  • Create a summary use case diagram for viewing items in a user’s Favorites list.
  • Create an activity diagram for purchasing an item from the user’s Favorites list.
  • Create a sequence diagram for displaying favorite items for a logged in user.

US07 - Wireframes for audio, video, and other multimedia content

Description:

As a designer, I want to create wireframes that depict how multimedia content will appear on Java Stop's website to help the client understand the user experience when this type of content is accessed.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review and acceptance of the manner in which multimedia content is displayed. Developer review of multimedia implementation strategy to determine feasibility.

Tasks:

  • Create two wireframes created with Axure depicting audio, video, and multimedia display on Java Stop's website

US08 - Wireframes navigational bar links

Description:

As a designer, I want to create wireframes for the navigation bar on Java Stop's website that will displayed prominently on all pages so that the client can have a clear understanding of how the navigational menus will appear and function prior to development.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review and acceptance of navigational menu layout and function. Developer review to determine feasibility of menu function implementation.

Tasks:

  • Create a global navigation menu wireframe using Axure
  • Create a local product page navigation wireframe using Axure
  • Create a global footer wireframe using Axure

US09 - Wireframes for forms for user registration, inquiries, payment, possible error messages, etc.

Description:

As a designer, I want to create wireframes for user registration, inquiry form, payment process, and error messages so that the client has an understanding of the layout and experience the user will have when interacting with these forms and error notifications on Java Stop's website. These wireframes will provide a guide for the developer to follow when creating the forms and keep errors consistent across the site.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review and acceptance of form and error message layout and appearance. Developer review of forms and error messages to determine feasibility of implementation.

Tasks:

  • Create user login/registration form wireframe
  • Create wholesale inquiry form wireframe

US10 - High Fidelity prototype of web site. Include Banner graphics and other icons.

Description:

As a designer, I want to create a high fidelity prototype of Java Stop's website to provide a realistic representation of the future site to the client as well as provide a guide for developers of the expectations of the finished product.

Acceptance Criteria:

Client review of the prototype, once acceptance is received, development can begin. Developer review of prototype to determine feasibility of implementation of components.

  • Create high fidelity prototype of Java Stop's home page
