Our goal for the usability test is to provide the user of easycar.com website with a
convenient and enjoyable experience using the website. We have created and designed
the website interface to be simple and friendly for the user to navigate.
Test Objectives and Goals
1- Is the user able to navigate through the website and find what is he looking for
easily?
2- Will the user be able to search for a specific used car in a price range?
3- Will the user be able to search for a new car in same zip code?
4- Will the user be able to locate seller information?
3.1 Primary Personae
Are interested in buying a used or new car
Young person looking to buy a used car in their area
Working professional looking for new cars in their area
Average age of 25-35
They frequently use the internet to shop or find information on future purchases
They value security and trustworthiness in online shopping
Have owned at least one car previously
Average income 40-60K
3.2 Secondary Personae
Individual looking to sell used car
Have experience buying/selling items online through sites similar to craigslist or Ebay
Car Dealership looking to advertise new and/or used cars online
Business Owners
4.1 Search for/find Used Toyota Camry in tester's zip code (Reference DD 2.1.2)
System state: EasyCars.com home page is displayed. The Search section is right underneath the Home Tab on the home page which can be seen by the participant. See Figure 1. The Search section is also linked in the Search Tab which can be seen by participant. See Figure 2.
Task Completion: The task is completed successfully if the participant completes the following steps:
Go to Search section from home page (Figure 1)
- OR -
Click on Search Link tab page (Figure 2)
Dropdown MAKE scroll bar to: TOYOTA
Dropdown MODEL scroll bar to: CAMRY
Click checkbox to: USED
Expected completion of task 1-5 seconds.

4.2 Search for/find new Mercedes Benz in tester's zip code (Reference DD 2.1.3)

Task Completion: The task is completed successfully if the participant completes the following steps:

Click checkbox to: NEW
Click on the image of the car that appears (Figure 4)
The information and details of the car are listed and an image is provided (Figure 5)
Expected completion of task 5-10 seconds.

4.3 Locate contact information for someone selling used car on site (Reference DD 2.1.4)
System State: EasyCars.com site is up and the main navigation with the New Listings Tab Link is visible and is seen by participant. See Figure 6 and Figure 7.
Task Completion: The task is completed successfully if the participant completes the following steps:
Click on the New Listings Link Tab that is on the home page main navigation.
Choose a listing. (Figure 6)
Once a listing has been chosen.
You will see the seller’s information towards the bottom of the right hand side. (Figure 7)
Expected time of completion 10-15 seconds.
