Initial Prototype Reaction

What is your first reaction to the site?
I love the banner graphic along the top! Great panoramic shot of Wrigley Field!

What is appealing to you and why?
The website doesn’t do much. It serves really only one purpose; reserving Wrigley Field parking. That being said, it is extremely easy to navigate. It is mostly appealing because my family and friends drive to 20-30 games every season. We also give away our tickets from time to time and this makes for a nice parking referral.

Who is this website built for?
It serves people driving to Cubs games and also the residents of the neighborhood. Very cool.

Does this seem like a website designed for someone like you?
Absolutely. Being a season ticket holder, my family and I will definitely be in need of Wrigley Field parking for a long time to come!

User Satisfaction Questionnaire

Did you complete the tasks quickly and easily?
I did. I couldn’t find the day in advance game but after I figured it out I don’t think I would make that mistake again. It was mostly my fault the calendar is easy to use, I was on the wrong month.

Was it the information you expected?
I expected to find E-Z Out parking for Cubs games and got exactly that.

Are you pleased with the steps taken?
I’m glad the tests didn’t make me look stupid. They were very simple to complete because the website is easy to use.

Debriefing

What do you think of your first experience with our site?
My first thoughts were “I can’t believe I never heard of this before.” I’ve been struggling with Wrigley Field Parking for years and never thought to check the web for a solution.

What was the most useful aspect of the site?
The most useful was the map of directions provided after reserving the spot.

What aspects of the site were ineffective?
I almost left the page to check out the Facebook fan page…not sure if that’s what you want customers doing?

What improvements do you suggest for the site?
In terms of functionality its great as it is. Maybe integrate a referral system. Some kind of incentive for returning customers to get discounts for loyalty and referrals.

Summary

As a season ticket holder driving in from the suburbs, Mike was a perfect example of a Primary Persona. He had a great experience with the website. He is the type to refer business in our direction as a result of this experience. Being a Primary Persona, he lives in the Suburbs amongst many other Primary Personas. Customers like him will be vital to the success of this business. He briefly struggled adding parking for a game in the future but other than that each task was a quick process from start to finish.

List of Changes

1.) We might consider relocating the facebook mini feed from the left margin. Possibly just using a simple “Like” button to prevent customers from leaving the website before checking out!

10. Would you recommend our services to others?

Initial Prototype Reaction

What is your first reaction to the site?
The website is easily laid out so that when visiting, the purpose is clearly defined. Over cluttered websites easily confuse and create more hassle toward the end purpose.

What is appealing to you and why?
The three easy steps for obtaining a parking spot make coming to this site repeatedly tempting.

Who is this website built for?
Any web user would be able to use this website. It is not only catered to those who regularly attend Cubs Baseball games.

Does this seem like a website designed for someone like you?
This website could definitely be designed for someone like me. However, if I had to choose between the two baseball teams in Chicago, I would side with the White Sox. I have attended numerous Cubs Games though.

User Satisfaction Questionnaire
Did you complete the tasks quickly and easily?
Aside from a few questions while navigating or deciding where to go if I was an existing customer, I did not have any problems completing the tasks. The navigation task bar on the main page is easy to decipher.

Was it the information you expected?
The information that I came across was exactly what I expected. Nothing came as a surprise to me when I was going through my various tasks.

Are you pleased with the steps taken?
I am happy that I was able to complete each of the tasks properly. However, I was cautious of what I was doing because I did not want to make a mistake during the process especially because I was being evaluated.

Debriefing
What do you think of your first experience with our site?
The first experience with the website was very impressive because I did not know what to expect when first arriving to the website. The navigation is simple enough and the information that is on the website is easy enough to understand even if I wasn’t aware of baseball terminology.

What was the most useful aspect of the site?
Some great features of the website is the layout of the calendar with the events already posted so the most desired games can be chosen. Also, on the main page, the three easy steps to getting a parking spot are documented.

What aspects of the site were ineffective?
The Facebook feeder in the bottom left hand corner of the screen was distracting to the main purpose of the website. If this is kept within the website it should probably be within its own tab and not on the main page because it is supplemental information not directly corresponding to the parking spot application.

What improvements do you suggest for the site?
I wish there was a feature to have game day promotions for local business on the days that I would be attending a Cubs game. This way I could further my stay in the area outside the time of the baseball game.

Summary
Beckie had an overall positive experience with the website and stated after that this was a good idea for the area since a parking structure isn’t present. I could tell she was nervous for being asking to complete the tasks asked of her. She was concerned about doing something too wrong for fear that it would mess something up. She however eventually did everything without fail, and was happy that it wasn’t difficult. As stated before she said that even if she wasn’t a baseball fan she would still be able to navigate the website and such. The task that she had most difficulty with was reserving a spot as a customer. She did not know if this was for pre-existing customers or rather ones that were new to the system. It is not specifically declared and this change should be made. Another change that she suggested was changing the layout and design of the website. Although it is well organized and neat, it probably needs to be changed in order to better understand and for quicker reactionary speeds when completing a task.

List of Changes
Changes to the website would need to be decided after careful consideration from the reactions of the test users. Beckie’s suggestion to reorganize and re-edit the details of the website through layout and design is a good thought. Any website could bring more traffic or interest by simply changing its design. The better experience a user has with the website the better chance word will spread to others and repeated use of the website will increase

I like the fact that they donate a portion of the proceeds to the Chicago Public Schools and that they have an option for anyone just to make a standard donation to CPS without making a purchase on the site.

9. Please explain what you feel we could improve on Cubparking.com.
On the calendar, there should be some type of mark on the days where parking is available. Also there should be more focus on the mobile site view. I have a blackberry and it is an older model. It is kind of hard to use the site from my cell.

10. Would you recommend our services to others?

C. Maybe

User Satisfaction Questionnaire

Ask each tester the following questions and record their comments based on each task completed:

Did you complete the task quickly and easily?
Reserve Parking was fairly difficult because during the off season there is no parking available at this time. Sign Up My Spot was fairly easy, but was kind of baffled when there was no instructions or mentions of a verifying process there. So I was unsure if a representative would be following up with me or would that park just be automatically added, what the price would be, and it just seemed to be missing a lot of specific details. With locating the About Us page it proved quick, but I normally find the about us page normally on the top navigational bar and if the footer is not in plain view when you first go onto the site, you may not find it as quickly.

Was it the information you expected?
No because I was looking for more detailed information on the site. I got lost a couple of times which would deter me from using again, if I come across a better site.

Are you pleased with the steps taken?
They were okay.

Debriefing

The debriefing below contains questions and discussion points that the testing team should explore with the test participants at the conclusion of the test. Ask each tester the following questions and record their comments:
What do you think of your first experience with our site?
Not too impressed, especially since I have done research on other similar sites.

What was the most useful aspect of the site?
The look of the site is nice, but that is all I really like about the site.

What aspects of the site were ineffective?
There should be some sort of message stating that during this time the season is over and there may be limited spaces available at this time. So maybe there should be some sort of disclaimer there during the off season.

What improvements do you suggest for the site?
Add more details on the pages so that a customer can know what is going on as they use the website.

What task did they have difficulty with?
This user had difficulty with finding details for specific questions on using the site.

List of Changes to the site

Provide the changes you plan to implement to your site as a result of the usability testing
One of the changes that I feel need to be made to the site, is more detail needs to be added so that when people or doing specific tasks on the site they can understand the process that is going to take place. Also the mobile site should be designed specifically with a general mobile site layout.
